Who am I?
Hello! My name is Carrie Rice, and I am a pet sitter in the Huntsville/Madison County, Alabama area!
I specialize in cat sitting because I have lots of experience caring for cats, and I understand their specific needs. Some may even call me a cat whisperer. My clients are mainly located in the cities of Huntsville and Madison. However, I am willing to venture out a bit further for an additional fee.
I currently have three kitties at my home out in Madison County, along with a mama kitty and her 5 kittens that I am fostering. I also volunteer as the manager for Cattyshack, Inc., a local cat lounge at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment. You may see me there from time to time crawling around on the floor with my camera!
I also have my own art studio in room 1048 at Lowe Mill - right next door to Cattyshack! You're welcome to visit me there if you'd like to meet before hiring me or allowing me into your home. I am usually there on Fridays and Saturdays between 12 noon and 7 pm. I can also provide pet sitting references if you'd like to know more about me as a sitter! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have as well.
Carrie, do you sit dogs too?
I tend to focus on cats because I have more experience with them, and I feel there is a need for in-home cat care. However, I am open to sitting small dogs on a case by case basis. I don't have as much experience with them, but I do love all animals and want them to have the best care possible! I am not able to handle larger breeds however, due to health constraints. I also prefer not to walk dogs on leashes. If your dog has a fenced-in area in the yard that is fine.
I also have some experience with small pets in cages or tanks.
I've taken care of everything from chinchillas to crabs!

COVID-19
How do I handle this?
As of April 9th, 2021 I am fully vaccinated, and have had my 3rd booster. I am happy to continue wearing a mask in your home if you wish. I will continue using good cleaning practices regardless of when the pandemic ends.
Please let me know if there is anything specific you would like me to do to make you feel more comfortable with someone entering your home to care for your pets. I'm happy to use whatever cleaning products and methods you request. The health of your pets and home are my top priority!
Pricing
Basic Services
These are the basic services I provide and the base rate for each. Please make sure to read through my policies below as well.
Cat Sitting
$20+
2022: Base Rate:
$20 per 30 minute visit
2022 Holidays:
$25 per 30 minute visit
2023: Base Rate:
$20 - 20 minute visit for up to three (3) cats
$30 - 30 minute visit for up to six (6) cats
$60 - 1 hour visit for up to ten (10) cats
2023 Holidays:
Base Rate +$5 per visit
1 or 2 visits per day, includes feeding, watering, litter cleaning, play, medication if needed. I am not a trained veterinarian.

Overnight Sitting
$35+
2022 Base Rate:
$35 per night
2022 Holidays:
$40 per night
Overnights:
$80 per night
$100 holiday rate
9:00 pm - 7:00 am guaranteed (usually more)
This includes pet sitting if needed, but I will need to be gone during the day to care for other clients' pets.

Deposits & Scheduling
A deposit of at least 50% of your total payment will be required to schedule a sitting appointment.
I am currently moving existing clients to Square's invoicing system, and will utilize this with all clients moving forward. All invoices will be emailed to the address on file.
Cash payments will still be accepted, but I will no longer accept personal checks after December 31, 2021.
Cancelation Policy

Deposits & Scheduling
Cancelations must be made at least 24 hours before the first scheduled visit in order to receive a refund of your deposit. Any clients canceling a visit after the 24 hour period will not receive a deposit refund.
Rescheduling:
If travel needs to be rescheduled, clients are required to contact Rocket Kitty Sitting as soon as possible with new travel dates. The client's initial deposit will count toward the new dates. Rocket Kitty Sitting reserves the right to cancel sitting services if the new travel dates create conflict with other client visits.

If you adopt a cat from Cattyshack, Inc. you will get TWO FREE VISITS with proof of adoption.
Fosters and Volunteers from any local animal rescue can receive 20% off all visits with proof of membership.
